Academic Curriculum

Second Nature Entrada for Adults is an effective program for young people experiencing academic challenges such as poor study skills, anxious reactions, resistance to work and follow-through. These challenges are often intertwined with clinical issues. Second Nature staff will observe and address these concerns through daily experiential education on local history, environmental issues, geology, psychology, health and writing assignments. All coursework occurs outdoors in the beautiful mountains and desert land of southwestern Utah, a region that inspires and promotes personal growth and learning.

Many of the people participating in Second Nature Entrada for Adults have experienced difficulties in school as a symptom of internal struggles. The academic element of the program becomes a critical aspect of their treatment. The therapist will review a participant's academic work and assess the dynamics that may have led to, or contributed to, their mental health struggles.

High school credit is available for clients in need.
