Second Nature Entrada for Adults will provide you and your family with therapists who are expert in many diagnostic areas such as substance abuse, mood disorders, NLD, abuse, trauma, anger management, and dual-diagnosis.
You will have a Ph.D. or Masters level clinician as the leader of your treatment team. Second Nature's clinical team is unequaled in the field of wilderness therapy. Therapists carrying a caseload, often train for a year or more at Second Nature, before they assume their own groups.
Beyond simple intuitive or narrative descriptions of your progress, your therapist will provide sophisticated yet accessible psychological theory to assess behaviors, create family assignments, and create recommendations. Clients and families often attest that their Second Nature Entrada therapist was able to ascertain problems and create interventions far more effectively than previous experiences allowed.
Second Nature Entrada’s Field Instructors consist of committed individuals who engage in an extensive training process. Competence in outdoor medical training, de-escalation training, communication skills, clinical services, and primitive living skills are part of the curriculum. Field Instructors develop clinical qualities unrivaled in therapeutic wilderness care. Creativity, affinity for outdoor living, sensitivity, compassion and a desire to help people lead healthy and productive lives are all prerequisites for the Field Instructor position.
Each Second Nature Wilderness Program has a medical director who monitors overall physical health and psychotropic medications. Access to a psychiatric assessment and visits may also be provided as directed by the primary therapist. Along with providing the highest level of clinical expertise, all Second Nature employees adhere to an unparalleled commitment to customer service.
